Chao Phraya Express Boat ServiceMore Pictures could be found at ...PICTURES!
If you ever have been in Bangkok, you sure know them: the River taxis or Express-Boat-Taxis!
Whenever it is possible for me, I use this Express-Boats, because it is one of the last chances to watch the "normal" live in Bangkok. After one of the end stations of the Skytrain is in near of one of the major stops of the Express-Boats, they are easy to find and to use. Go with the Skytrain to Saphan Thaksin and leave there. About 50 meters away, there is one of the Express-Boat stations. How much does it cost??? If I would say, they are cheap, it would sound to expensive ;-) A two hour trip to the end station is about 20 Baht; that means about 0,5US$. I have had only one big problem: I didn't know, where the stations are and which boat I have to take to go to Station xxxx. In 2000 (the 25 anniversary of the Express-Boat Service), they published a map with all information's! I am very proud, that I got the approval to scan and publish this map on my websites.
